Welcome to Charmed Ones Kennel. We are a small kennel located in central Virginia. Our giant AKC Alaskan Malamutes come from giant bloodlines, such as: Wakon, Alaska's Own, Towbar, and Dry Run to name a few. I chose these lines for there beauty and size. I have raised malamutes my whole life, but have only been breeding the last 2 years. We only bred each female once per year. We do not bred our Alaskan Malautes until the 3d heat. The males may enter our breeding program when they are one year old.
Health is very important to me. We have purchsed some dogs that were ill when we got them and it took a lot to get there health back. We dust around their pens weekly to prevent bugs, fleas, ticks, lice , and mange. All of our Alaskan Malmutes are up to date on all their vaccines. We do give our mals vitamins to help maintain there health.
As for their living environment 3 dogs live in a 50x50 foot pen. We just built 5 of these. We also build oak dog homes. They look real nice. The have approximately 2500 suare feet per run. . This is an ongoing pr oject. We are not done yet. We need to add some trees and pools. Anything else we can think of to make their homes nicer. We love to get in there and play with them. They have toys to play with. Our goal is to have happy, healthy Alaskan Malamutes.
I have been learning about bites and other features to look for in dogs so that we can produce better lines. I am still learning and have a lot more to learn. Learning never stops. We are striving to produce our own line here at Charmed Ones Kennel; therefore we have chosen the best Alaskan Malamutes we could find to work with. I picked many of them for their temperment, beauty, gentics, and size. We do not have the biggest mals out there but size is not the #1 factor. I do believe my babies are the most beautiful giant Alaskan Malamutes out there ( I may be bias, though!)
We have white, black and white, gray and white, seal and white, sable and white and all shades of red and white such as, mahogany, flaming brick. On average our malamutes are 100 to 140 pounds. I have recently taken in some smaller..standard sized malamutes as I have had requests for standards. I got them for there beauty and good gentics, not there size. We have woolies and standard coats. I have tried to have all the differnt types of malamutes I could find. I love them all but I know that I also have to appeal to you and your taste may be differnt than what I prefer. Honestly I don't think there is such a thing as an ugly or improper malamute. I think they are like human ..we all have beauty inside us and we have to find the right person to love us for who we are.
Charmed Ones Kennel also strives to give our customers the 'personal touch.' I don't mind if you call or email with questions. I will do my best to answer. If you are in our region of the country I do will do little extras, like -drive to meet you, trade or barter for a pup.
Each of our giant Alaskan Malamutes, treated for coccidia, and vaccinated before leaving here. We also microchip your giant Alaskan Malamute pup for $50. They are AKC registerable and AKC gives you 60days of free health insurance with every pup you register! Each mal comes with a health guarantee and a deposit contract. I want our buyers to be informed about what they are getting. When the puppy is picked up ,I give you all the paper work, completely filled out and ready for you to sign and send to AKC with the $15 fee. I have had to wait months to get my AKC registration from some people. I didn't like it and I won't do it to anyone else. If the breeder does not have the registration paper work at the time of delivery of the pup; AKC told me they should give you all the pertanent info on the parents and litter registration so you can check on the paperwork and have proof of what you purchased.
